money Good book about how God has given us money to use for His Glory. We are to control money and not let money control us. Recommend to every Christian.
Ulmer reveals the dots... ...and shows how they're connected. Sadly, "The Power Of Money: How To Avoid A Devil's Snare" covers a topic that is rarely taught in churches today--and never taught with this clarity. Dr. Ulmer is one fearless teacher of God's Word, which he elucidates in such a succinct, easy to grasp manner that, as you read, you constantly have those wonderful "Ah-ha!" revelatory moments. Not for today's run-of-the-mill Christian who gives only passing nods to God's Word, this book is for serious men and women of God who want to know what the Lord has to say about life on earth so we can appreciate the blessings as well as avoid the pitfalls. Many Christians will rail against much of what this book teaches and reveals...for they do not want God's own Word to tell them they are not living in accordance with it. Powerful.
It is God's Money Dr. Ulmer is an excellent writer and his written word is filled with the written Word of God and 'truth' is revealed to the learner as he teaches "How to Avoid a Devil's Snare."
Much is written about money for the Christian, but this book, just published, by an experienced pastor, seminary president, and the receiver of the prestigous King's Apostelos Christou Award is newness in the revealing truth of the need today of knowledge by every Christian.
This excellent book is written with a deep knowledge of scripture and all is backed with the Word of God.

A Proper Perspective on the Money, Possessions, and Principle Dr. Kenneth Ulmer's book "The Power of Money: How to Avoid a Devil's Snare" is highly endorsed by esteemed Christian denominational leaders, Para-church ministries, and leaders in International Evangelism.
Ulmer's writing is pragmatic and down to earth connecting with the reader at their level of need. The book addresses the struggle many Christians face when attempting to find a balance of dedication to the Lord while in a dilemma trying to balance their checkbook in times of economic crisis. The book is about perspectives, perceptions, priorities, unity and worship.
Unfortunately Christians are often drawn away from their love for the Lord. Faced with Satan's temptations, the desire for possessions, and the lure of wealth many find they have exchanged their first love and are caught up in the snare of a love of money. Ulmer describes in detail the stronghold of "mammon" and the danger of trying to serve two masters.
Wealth, money, riches, prosperity, treasure, and intrinsic value are all discussed in light of honoring God and maintaining a positive Christian testimony. Ulmer goes on to show how true treasures are those turned over to God and of the concept of a circle of blessing.
Personally, I appreciated the page at the end of each chapter provided for notes of reflection, meditation, or journaling. Taking advantage of this interactive feature adds personal meaning as well as application for the principles covered within the chapter.
"The Power of Money: How to Avoid a Devil's Snare" offers deliverance, hope, and a new sense of financial understanding and acceptance of personal responsibility for good stewardship. Ulmer's writing is Biblically based, fresh, and penetrating.
