Editorial Reviews:

Jonathan and David Murray, as seen on The Today Show and CNBC, become your personal financial advisors as you face the challenge of taking care of your kids, your parents, and your own future.
-Will I have enough money to retire? -How can I pay for my children’s education? -Will I be able to take care of my aging parents?
These are the three questions which financial advisors Jonathan and David Murray hear more than any others, whether during their segments on The Today Show, CNBC, their radio call-in show, or from their own clients over the past twenty years. More and more Americans—especially the 78 million born during the baby boom—are growing increasingly concerned about their family’s fiscal future.

Today, a baby boomer turns fifty every eight seconds. Chances are he has school-age children, aging parents, and only 240 paychecks left until age sixty! So, how does this generation make it all work? From visualizing your retirement (and how to get there) to fixing your 401k; from getting out of debt to getting rich; from providing for your children to taking care of your parents—Jonathan and David Murray, twin professional investment advisors who have spent their careers guiding boomers, give their viewers, and readers of any generation, a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to financial health and peace of mind.

As the Murrays write about the relationship between life and money, "It usually begins with the numbers. But that’s rarely where it ends…almost invariably it gets personal. Because as people describe their financial picture, they begin to describe their lives." Two for the Money is a book about your life, about how you want to live it, and about giving you the tools you need to get there.

This book explains the many facets of managing your money. It is written in a very down-to-earth format with examples that bring the concepts to life. I especially enjoy the sections where Jonathan and David debate certain investment viewpoints. The Murray's take a conservative approach to investing - this is not a get rich quick book. It is a book that should be implemented as part of a long term strategy for saving and building your net worth. It explains terms and concepts in a clear, concise and interesting format.

I think all young adults should read this book - it would be especially useful for college students. Starting early makes so much sense - although all is not lost for those of us who are late bloomers ;)

This is a great basic financing book that should be read by all ages, especially those just starting off who think they have lots of years to worry about retirement. It will creep up on you before you know it!

Great book!

This book should be required for all boomers! Strike that--this book should be required for all READERS!
It takes what could be a dry, technical, even intimidating subject--getting your financial house in order--and makes it informative, entertaining, even humorous! And the Murray Brothers are not afraid to disagree with each other, poke fun at themselves, or recognize that people have different priorities. But they agree on the basics: get organized, save early and often, and plan for the future.
Two for the Money inspired me to get off my butt and think long-term! It even inspired my 14 year-old son to start saving for retirement!

I have listened to the advice of these brothers before and have not found it to be helpful. The advice they offer is redundant and can be found elsewhere. There are many more interesting books available such as a Random Walk...and Winning the Losers Game.
