The Road To Wealth
When reading about how to handle your money, nothing comes better than Suze Orman.
I enjoy reading this book and I learned very much of how the financial system works in this country. It has also helped me to understand in a very simple way how to start taking control of my personal finances. I also learned all the terms that were confusing to me in my Will, and to make some important changes to better care for my family in case I die.
This book has everything you need to know, starting on how to manage your debs, important rules in how to buy your house, buy an affordable insurance, retirement planning and to make your Will and Trust, to least a few.
The only bad thing that I found in this book, it was that since it was published in 2001, there are several rules and laws that have changed since then. I don't know if it is an updated version, but the book I got hasn't been updated.
Anyway this book has helped me a lot, and I recommend it to anyone that want to learn different ways to improve their financial situations or to use their money in a smarter way.

An expert on a little about a lot
This book could also be called PERSONAL FINANCE for BEGINNERS and be just as suitable. It's basically a regurgitation of any basic personal finance information you can find for free anywhere on the Internet. Just search things like "Getting a Mortgage," "Managing Debt," "Saving for Retirement", etc. and you'll find near word-for-word similarities to this book.
The problem with Suze Orman is that she isn't in the personal finance business. She's in the Suze Orman business. That means her time and resources are spent promoting herself, not staying up to date on industry news. The result is her information is sometimes completely out of date and in the worst case, factually inaccurate. She spends nearly 10 pages villifying annuities based on information from 10 years ago.
Don't waste your money!!!!
Great Deal
I bought this book used and it was in great condition! I couldn't have been happier with the product especially for the price. However the shipping did seem a bit on the slow side, but the item arrived within the expected shipping dates.
A great book to get started with
This book is great for young audience and for the people who want to take financial matters in their own hands for the first time. It is a comprehensive guide to the financial side of our life: from credit card debt to trusts and wills. I think The Road to Wealth is a good book to have around as a reference guide. The organization of the book makes it easy to find various subjects. Once you find what you are looking for you can either read the introductory essay only or read the entire section in details. Questions and answers are very useful as they give a deeper and more illustrated definition of the terms.
I find some sections more informative then the others. For example, the section about the credit card debt is very comprehensive, educational and full of good information. I would not say however that section about investments is very good. It does give a general outline about different types of investments, but if you want to know more get another book that is more specialized. I would say the same about real estate, tax laws and legal practices.
Although this book would not give the readers the knowledge to deal with all the aspects of personal finance, it is a good guide in housekeeping, family finance, debt management, and planning for future needs. This book is a good tool in getting to know where to look for help and what we can expect from the professionals and organizations assisting us.
