Great starting resource Can't over-emphasize the value of not making common mistake early on in your campaign. Way too easy to burn through a budget only to learn you could have accomplished more with less. This is a great book to help you avoid those situations.
You won't find this book boring! The authors, Perry and Bryan, are clearly hyped up about Google AdWords! Their book reminds me of a fast-paced action movie - there's a thrill a minute, or at least a good line or two at almost every turn of the page.
The book is as much a motivational guide as it is a guide to AdWords, and I'm sure these guys are good motivational speakers. But like any motivational seminar, you come out of it totally pumped up to whip the world, but then .... Reality sets back in and you come back to earth, where the world is not quite as simple as it was in the seminar or, in this case, the book.
This book is an easy & interesting read, particularly for beginners to AdWords, and I'd certainly recommend it. However, along with it, I think I'd recommend a couple of more prosaic books on the subject, such as Pay-per-Click Advertising by Richard Stokes and/or Advanced Google AdWords by Brad Geddes.
Snake oil reviews tell you all Perry is a classic internet scammer through and through. Just peruse the glowing reccommendations and you'll realize you are already being played. There is nothing here that you cant learn for free from Google.
Good book - Worth the price! If you are going to use Google adwords ... You need this book. It will save you several times its cost and will gain you sales. It is a quick read and nicely setup.
Poorly formatted for Kindle and outdated. There is quite a bit of good information in the book but I have a couple complaints.
First, the images are far to small to be useful on the IPad and Mac OS Kindle software even when zoomed in (the images just get very fuzzy). The images are referred to in the text quite often and unfortunately you have to piece together what he's referring to. I'm not sure about the kindle device but I would be surprised if its any different. When I pay for a book for the Kindle I would expect the publisher to at least check the quality before putting it up for sale. Entrepreneur Media is the publisher (why am I not surprised?). Anyway, if you want to buy it get the sample first and check out the images.
Second, he refers to a number of online tools that are either non-existant or no longer relavent. When I browsed the books on Adwords I was looking for something recent since this stuff gets outdated fairly quickly. The paperback version of the book is dated in 2010, but the kindle version says 2007. I didn't notice the 2007 date or I would have passed, this is my fault since I should have noticed it.
Another reviewer didn't like the glowing endorsements but I think the underlying content is still worth the price. I just recommend you find something more recent or at least avoid the kindle version.
